Course outline
This course is the fusion of several different styles of Hatha Yoga and the culmination of over 5 years experience of teaching Vinyasa Yoga and many more years exploring it as a technique.
If we wanted to describe the idea and techniques used in Vinyasa Flow Yoga we can think about the three Divine Qualities or creative forces as described in sacred texts from India;
Brahma - creates, Vishnu - upholds, Shiva - Dissolves
We have to understand that these are not 'gods' but a description of how everything comes into being; creation, lasting existence, and then finally, as with all things in life, dissolving and changing into something else. We create a flow by being attentive to the creation of a pose. We explore alignment and form to give the posture structure and validity and then finally we dissolve into the next creation, the next posture.
This is such an absorbing technique for the mind; when we slow down practice and the breath and learn how to flow, your asana practice is transformed into a moving meditation. Over time, you will learn to quiet your mind and uncover what is already the case; a deep contentment, peace and stillness just waiting to be unveiled. This is your birthright.
