Course Outline

This course aims at introducing key concepts of movement and posture. Over the 12 weeks the student will learn Asana (posture), Pranayama (breath work or control), and Dharana (concentration/mindfulness).

Over the 12 weeks the student will learn a variety of Vinyasa, or flowing sequences which will be documented and given to the student on completion of study for future reference and home practice. The sequences are specifically designed to open the students body and focus breath with movement. Many of the sequences will be be based around Yoga Therapy, a technique used to help recover from accidents, injuries and stress to the body. We will focus on breath and breathing techniques, thus taking the yoga from a simple set of stretches into a deeper practice to rejuvenate and refresh the body and mind.

This course is aimed at beginners, those that have practiced any style of yoga for less than one year or those new to this style of yoga.

The course is suitable for all levels of experience but will have a specific focus on beginner students. Mats are provided. Just wear clothing that won't restrict your movement and bring a bottle of water.

"From the very first Yoga session, people discover the intimacy that nature has established between awareness and physiology. Getting back in touch with this intimacy is very reassuring and delightful, particularly for people who have given up on exercise and become virtual strangers to their bodies"
